Our story of Emarion
The vowel prefixes arrived last in American naming and they had a specific job. By the 1990s the consonant prefixes — La-, De-, Ja-, Ta-, Sha-, Da- — had been fully exploited, and the remaining way to make a new name from a known one was to add a vowel at the front: Amarion, Emarion, Amari, Imari, Adarius, Amarie. What the vowel does that a consonant cannot is add a syllable without adding weight, since an unstressed opening vowel almost disappears in speech. Emarion is Marion with that treatment, and its 2005 peak sits at the end of the whole prefix era. Marion itself, worth noting, was a men's name in America for most of its history — John Wayne was born Marion Morrison.
Meaningscholars disagree
The Marion element descends from a contested Mary
Marion is an Old French diminutive of Marie, from Hebrew Miryām, whose meaning is genuinely unsettled — bitter, beloved and rebellious have all been proposed. The E- prefix is an American naming element with no documented meaning, seen in Emarion, Elijah-based formations and Emari. The compound has no translatable sense.

Emarion's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Hani climbed just as high around 1984, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Hani's path sketches the road Emarion is walking now.
