New morphology is rarer than new words. English gains vocabulary constantly and gains word-endings almost never, so a name-ending that appears from nothing inside one decade is a genuine linguistic event, however small. Quan attached to Da-, Ja-, Ra- and Ty- and produced a set of names that were briefly everywhere and then settled. The q is worth noting too. It is the second rarest letter in English after z, it is followed by u in effectively every native word, and that rule is inherited from Latin, which had no other use for the letter either. A name containing one is using a letter English barely needs.
