The story of Cori
Kore was Persephone's cult title, and korai are the archaic statues of standing young women. Cora entered English through Fenimore Cooper's Last of the Mohicans in 1826, and Corinne through Herrick's verse. Cori is their clipping and appears in the American registers from the 1960s in current use.
