The story of Cesia
The book of Job ends with Job's restoration and the birth of ten more children, and the daughters alone are named — an unusual thing for a biblical genealogy, and the text adds that Job gave them an inheritance alongside their brothers, which was not the ordinary practice. Keziah became an English Puritan name and was used in colonial America. The Spanish Cesia is a separate transmission, used in Latin America and particularly in Central American evangelical communities, and its American record is recent: it appears from the 1990s and peaks in 2009, with Honduran, Guatemalan and Mexican families.
Meaning
Cassia, the fragrant bark
From Hebrew Qĕṣîʿāh, the cassia tree or its bark — a fragrant spice related to cinnamon and traded across the ancient world. The reading is settled. Job's three daughters are all named for beautiful things: Jemimah, a dove; Keziah, cassia; and Keren-happuch, a horn of eye paint. The Spanish Cesia represents the same Hebrew name through the Greek and Latin transmission.

The Leane test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Cesia's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Leane climbed just as high around 1964, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Leane's path sketches the road Cesia is walking now.
Cesia sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
