The story of Amalie
The Amali were the royal house of the Ostrogoths, Theodoric among them, and their name gave a family of Germanic personal names — Amalia, Amalric, Amalberga. German and Danish give Amalie, and it was well used in nineteenth-century Europe; an Amalienborg in Copenhagen is named for a queen. It appears in American records around 1880 with German and Scandinavian families.
Meaning
