Our story of Alexavier
Ours, offered as ours. Blending two complete names into one is a distinctly modern practice and it is doing something the older compound names did not: Alexander and Xavier are both fully formed, both in current use, and the blend keeps both audible rather than fusing them. Alexavier, Michaelangelo and Jaylin all work this way. It is closer to a portmanteau than to the Germanic compounding that produced most European names.
Meaning
defender of men; the new house
Alexander is from Greek alexein, to defend, and andros, of a man. Xavier is from Basque Etxeberria, the new house. Both are documented and the compound is a modern American blend.

The Lucus test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Alexavier's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Lucus climbed just as high around 1980, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Lucus's path sketches the road Alexavier is walking now.
Alexavier sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
