Treveon
Masculine
The -von in Treveon, Devon and Javon has an unlikely ancestor: an English county named after an Iron Age tribe. Devon is the land of the Dumnonii, and the syllable traveled from there into American naming as a free-floating piece.

Our story of Treveon
Devon is one of the very few English counties named after the people who lived there before the English arrived rather than after a geographical feature or an Anglo-Saxon division; the Dumnonii held the south-west peninsula and their name survives in Devon and in the Cornish Dumnonia. The county gave a surname, the surname gave an American given name, and by the 1980s Devon and Devonte were common enough that the second syllable came loose. Once loose it behaves like any other suffix: it attaches to Ja-, Tre-, Ke- and Da-, it takes several spellings, and it carries no trace of where it came from. That is the ordinary career of a borrowed element, and it means the honest account of a name like this describes the machinery rather than inventing a translation.

The Giacomo test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Treveon's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Giacomo climbed just as high around 1914, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Giacomo's path sketches the road Treveon is walking now.
Treveon sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
