Threasa
Feminine
Threasa moves the h of the standard spelling forward, producing a three-letter cluster that English does not otherwise use at the start of a name. The Spanish reformer who made the name famous gave her order a title that means, quite literally, without shoes.

Our story of Threasa
The order founded by Teresa of Ávila is called the Discalced Carmelites, and discalced means without shoes — from the Latin calceus, a shoe, the same root as calcium is not but as the French chaussure is. It was not a metaphor. The reform she led was about returning to austerity, and the outward sign of it was that the friars and nuns went barefoot or in rope sandals while the unreformed Carmelites, thereafter called the Calced, kept their shoes. The two branches separated formally and remain separate orders today, so a Carmelite house is still identified by whether it is shod or not. Few religious movements have been named quite so plainly after their footwear.
Meaningnot established
Not established
The name is first recorded in Roman Spain and its etymology is genuinely unknown. A connection to a Greek word for summer or for a harvest is proposed and unproven, and so is a link to the island of Thera. No dictionary claims to have settled it.

Three syllables with the stress in the middle. The h in this spelling is silent, as it is in the standard one; moving it forward changes nothing that can be heard.

Fashion outlook
Threasa sits outside the current charts, and that is its own kind of answer: naming cycles can only date the names they carried up. A name this rare has no decade stamped on it — it cannot go out of fashion, because it was never in.

The trade-off
- The sound is entirely familiar, so nobody has to be taught it.
- Middle stress on three syllables is the easiest rhythm English offers.
- It produces short forms that are standing names in their own right.
- Theresa, Teresa and Tereasa are all commoner and will be written for it.
- The moved letter is inaudible, so the spelling must be given aloud every time.
- The etymology is unknown, and glosses offered for it are guesses.
