Where it comes from

The story of Sydnei

The Danish architect Jørn Utzon won the competition for the Sydney Opera House in 1957 with a design of shell-like sails; after years of disputes over cost he resigned in 1966, left Australia, and never returned to see the building he had designed. At the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932, a man named Francis de Groot rode up on horseback and slashed the ribbon with his sword before the premier could cut it; it was retied and cut again. Sydnei is one of the spellings American families used as Sydney crossed from sons to daughters in the late twentieth century.

Sydnei sits in the rare tail. Its best year on record was 2005, with 37 girls. Today it is given to few enough children that it does not enter the ranked charts at all.
