The story of Mycah
The twelve books at the end of the Hebrew prophets are called minor, and the word means short rather than lesser — they were copied onto a single scroll because each was too small for one of its own, and that is the whole of it. Micah is seven chapters and is mostly about landowners taking fields from people who cannot resist. It also contains the famous line about swords and plowshares, which appears in Isaiah too, and the verse in chapter five naming Bethlehem as the place a ruler will come from. That verse was quoted at the start of Matthew's Gospel, and it fixed the geography of the most retold story in the western world.
