The story of Milca
In the book of Numbers, the daughters of Zelophehad, Mahlah, Noa, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah, had no brothers, and they asked Moses why their father's name should vanish from his clan; the ruling that followed let daughters inherit. Another Milcah, in Genesis, was the wife of Nahor and the grandmother of Rebekah. Spanish-speaking families took the name as Milca, and the record does not say which of the two women a family had in mind.
