The story of Madeliene

Napoleon ordered the unfinished church of La Madeleine in Paris to be rebuilt as a temple to the glory of his army; after his fall it became a church again, a Greek temple on the outside with columns on every side. Madeleine Albright was born in Prague, fled with her family as a child, and became the first woman to serve as American Secretary of State; only then did she learn from a reporter that her grandparents had been Jewish and had died in the Holocaust. Madeliene is one of the spellings American families have used for the name.
