The story of Kenzlee
Clan Mackenzie held Kintail and much of Ross in the Scottish Highlands, and the surname is among the more prominent Scottish ones. It became an American girls' first name in the late twentieth century and then, once popular, began to be taken apart: Kenzie came off the middle, and Kenzlee, Kenzley and Kenslee were built out from there. The -lee ending is Old English leah, a woodland clearing, which has become the general-purpose American way of finishing a girl's name.
Meaningscholars disagree
fair, handsome — through Coinneach
Mackenzie is Mac Coinnich, 'son of Coinneach', and Coinneach is generally read from a Gaelic word meaning fair or comely; Kenneth is its English form. That reading is documented for Mackenzie. Kenzlee is a different matter: it takes the Kenz- from the middle of the surname and adds the -lee suffix, and the compound is not recorded with a meaning of its own.
