The Ó Cianáin were a learned family in Ulster, and English wrote their name as Keenan. The surname became a first name in America, and two performers put its spellings in front of very large audiences. Keenan Wynn played the colonel in Dr. Strangelove who shoots open a Coca-Cola machine for change so a call can reach the President, and warns that he will have to answer to the Coca-Cola company. Keenen Ivory Wayans created the sketch show In Living Color. Keenon is a third spelling of the same sound.
