Where it comes from

The story of Kaeleb

In the Book of Joshua, Caleb, one of the scouts sent into Canaan forty-five years earlier, comes to Joshua at eighty-five and says he is as strong as he was on the day Moses sent him out; he asks for the hill country of Hebron, still held by giants, and takes it. The name came into English with the Puritans. In 1893 Caleb Bradham, a pharmacist in New Bern, North Carolina, created a fountain drink he first called Brad's Drink and renamed Pepsi-Cola a few years later. Kaeleb is one of the spellings that followed Caleb's great American revival.
