Janelle, Danelle, Ronelle, Shanelle, Jannell — the front was a name from the household and the tail was imported glamour, and the combination sounded more expensive than either piece. It is easy to be sniffy about this and worth noticing that French does exactly the same thing, and has for a thousand years, and that half the names now regarded as classics were built by the identical method a few centuries earlier.
