The story of Imagene
Imogene Coca was the comic partner of Sid Caesar on Your Show of Shows, the live Saturday night program whose writers' room later became legendary, and she won an Emmy for her work there. Her name came from Imogen, Shakespeare's heroine, lengthened with an e. Imagene replaces the o with an a, so that the first syllables read like the word image, and nothing records who first wrote it so.
