Our story of Elishia
Elisha Mitchell, a professor at the University of North Carolina, measured the Black Mountains and claimed that one peak was the highest east of the Mississippi; when a rival disputed it, he went back to prove it, fell at a waterfall and drowned. He is buried on the summit, and it is called Mount Mitchell. Elishia takes that sound, or Alicia's, and makes it a girl's name.
