Denita

Denita is one of very few names in its family built on a French front. The ending is Spanish and the pattern is American, but the syllable it starts from comes out of Denise and Denis, which puts a French saint at the back of a name that shows no sign of one.

The story of Denita
The -ita ending is a real Spanish diminutive, and in Spanish it attaches to real Spanish names: Juanita, Anita, Rosita, Carmelita. In American naming it detached and became available for anything, and what it attached to says something about which names were in the room. Denita's front came from the Denise family, which was itself a mid-century arrival from French; so the name is a French borrowing with a Spanish ending, assembled by English speakers who had both in earshot and no particular interest in where either came from.
Meaningnot established
Not established
The compound has no meaning. The front can be traced to Denise, whose own source is the Greek god Dionysus, but a name assembled from a clipped syllable does not inherit that.

Fashion outlook
Denita sits outside the current charts, and that is its own kind of answer: naming cycles can only date the names they carried up. A name this rare has no decade stamped on it — it cannot go out of fashion, because it was never in.
