The story of Chole
Chloe was a cult title of Demeter at Athens, used of her when the young corn came up, and it appears in Paul's letter to the Corinthians as an ordinary woman's name. English Protestants took it after the Reformation. Chole is a transposition of the two middle letters that appears in American records in real numbers, and it is also the Hindi name for a chickpea curry.
Meaning
green shoot, young growth

The Lysa test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Chole's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Lysa climbed just as high around 1968, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Lysa's path sketches the road Chole is walking now.
Chole sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
