The story of Casimiro
Slavic naming built compounds from a small stock of elements much as Germanic did, and mir was one of the commonest: Vladimir, Casimir, Miroslav, Radomir, Tikhomir. Its double sense, peace and world, is old and genuine, and it produced the long argument about War and Peace, whose Russian title uses a word that could be read either way; the modern consensus is that Tolstoy meant peace, but the ambiguity is real and the older spelling distinguished the two. Kazimierz was borne by several Polish kings and by a fifteenth-century prince who became the patron saint of Poland and Lithuania, which spread the name across Catholic Europe. Its Spanish and Italian form, Casimiro, reached the American records in the nineteenth century.

Slavic kaziti and mir, to destroy peace
From Polish Kazimierz, generally analyzed as kazic, to destroy or spoil, and mir, peace, giving one who destroys the enemy's peace. The element mir means both peace and world in the Slavic languages. Casimiro is the Spanish and Italian form; the American peak is 1881.
