The Ashvins are among the oldest figures in the Vedas — twin horsemen who arrive at dawn in a golden chariot and are called on for healing and rescue, and who have counterparts in Greek and Baltic myth from the same Indo-European inheritance. Ashwin is also the name of a Hindu lunar month. The name is used across India and reaches American records with families from the south and west.

The Evaristo test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Ashwin's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Evaristo climbed just as high around 1971, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Evaristo's path sketches the road Ashwin is walking now.
Ashwin sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
