The story of Alexandros
Alexandros appears on Mycenaean clay tablets, and Homer uses it as a second name for Paris of Troy — possibly a memory of a Hittite treaty naming an Alaksandu of Wilusa. Alexander the Great carried it across Asia. Alexandros is the Greek form and is in current American use.

The Carvin test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Alexandros's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Carvin climbed just as high around 1951, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Carvin's path sketches the road Alexandros is walking now.
