The story of Abisai
Abishai is one of the sons of Zeruiah, David's sister, and the account gives him a habit of offering to kill people — he wants to kill Saul, and Shimei, and is repeatedly told not to. He also saves David's life. The name entered Spanish naming through the Bible and is used in Mexico and Central America in real numbers; English-speaking use is much rarer.

The Larenzo test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Abisai's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Larenzo climbed just as high around 1972, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Larenzo's path sketches the road Abisai is walking now.
Abisai sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.

- Every letter is sounded, so Spanish speakers read it correctly at first sight.
- A documented biblical figure with a genuinely vivid presence in the text.
- The English and Spanish pronunciations differ entirely in stress and in vowels.
- The biblical Abishai is a violent figure whom the text does not entirely approve of.
- Abisai, Abishai and Avishai are all in use and look quite different.
