Tiffini
Feminine · “Appearance of God”
Tiffany has had four careers. It was a feast day, then a woman's name, then a fabric, then a shop, and by way of the shop it became a kind of glass. Very few words move that far, and Tiffini is a spelling from the last stage of the journey, when the word had become a name again.

The story of Tiffini
The word left the church calendar and went into the drapery trade. By the sixteenth century a tiffany was a very thin, transparent silk gauze, the sort used for veils and sieves, and the name of the cloth is generally taken to be the same word, borrowed for its suggestion of something you can see through. Separately it survived as a surname, and in the nineteenth century a New York merchant of that name opened a shop selling stationery and fancy goods that turned into a jeweller. His son made stained glass, and both the shop and the glass carry the surname, so that a word for a religious festival now names a shade of blue on a box. Tiffini is a respelling from the point where all of that was invisible and the name was simply a sound.
Meaning
Appearance of God
The Greek behind it is theophaneia, the showing of a god, which is the feast now called Epiphany. Medieval English wore it down in the mouth until it came out as Tiffany, and girls born around the sixth of January were given it. The connection was completely forgotten by the modern period, which is why the name now sounds invented and is not.

Fashion outlook
Tiffini sits outside the current charts, and that is its own kind of answer: naming cycles can only date the names they carried up. A name this rare has no decade stamped on it — it cannot go out of fashion, because it was never in.
