Our story of Tatia
Tatting is a lace made by knotting thread around a small shuttle, loop by loop, into rings and chains, and it was a favorite handwork of the nineteenth century. Its name has no settled origin; dictionaries simply say it is unknown. Tatia shares that small mystery. It appeared, rose quickly, and settled back, and no record explains the moment. What remains is a light two-syllable name, as neat as a row of knots.
