The story of Nahomi
Naomi loses her husband and both sons in Moab and returns to Bethlehem with Ruth, who refuses to leave her. Her renaming of herself as Mara is one of the sharpest moments in the Hebrew Bible. Spanish-speaking families use Nahomi and Naomi, and it appears in the American registers in current use.
