Loleta
Feminine
Loleta was given to American daughters for half a century before a novel made a very similar name unusable. Lolita was an ordinary Spanish pet form of Dolores, given without a second thought in every Spanish-speaking country, until a book published in the 1950s turned it into a word that means something a name should never mean.

The story of Loleta
The novel did something to the name that its author cannot have intended and certainly did not need. Within a decade the word had entered French, Italian, Japanese and half a dozen other languages as a common noun for a particular idea about young girls, and it has stayed there. In Spain and Latin America, where it had been an ordinary affectionate form of a very common name, it became uncomfortable and then unusable. It is the clearest example in modern naming of a book removing a word from the language by giving it a new meaning nobody can now unhear.
Meaningnot established
Not established
The likeliest source is the same Spanish diminutive that produced Lolita, or Lola with an ending attached; a coincidental American assembly is also possible. What can be said is that this spelling predates the novel by four decades, which means the families who used it were not thinking about anything the modern word suggests. Very few names have been destroyed as completely or as quickly by a single book.

Fashion outlook
Loleta sits outside the current charts, and that is its own kind of answer: naming cycles can only date the names they carried up. A name this rare has no decade stamped on it — it cannot go out of fashion, because it was never in.
