Leasia
Feminine
Asia was a Greek word for a region long before it was a word for a continent. Herodotus uses it for the lands east of the Aegean — what is now western Turkey — and it expanded outward over centuries until it covered a third of the world. Leasia puts a syllable in front of it, and the whole continent is sitting there inside a four-letter tail.

The story of Leasia
Asia became an American girls' name in the second half of the twentieth century, one of a group of place names given to daughters alongside India, Ireland and Chyna. Once it was in use, the American habit of adding a front syllable produced Leasia, Keasia, Aleasia and Neasia — all of them the same base with a different opening. This name appears in the record from the 1950s and rises much later, which suggests two separate populations under one spelling: some of it is Asia with a prefix, and some is probably a version of Lisa or Leticia.
Meaningnot established
Not established
The compound has no documented meaning. Asia, at the back of it, is genuinely old: the Greeks took the word from somewhere further east, and the most-cited proposal derives it from an Akkadian word meaning to go out or rise — the direction of the sunrise. That is a proposal rather than a finding, and it belongs to the continent's name rather than to this one.

The Tally test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Leasia's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Tally climbed just as high around 1958, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Tally's path sketches the road Leasia is walking now.
Leasia sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.

The trade-off
- It shortens to two complete names, and they sound nothing alike.
- There is no hard consonant anywhere in it, so it survives any accent.
- It sits well after long or consonant-heavy surnames.
- Leasia, Lisia and Lecia all appear in records, so the spelling has to be given.
- The middle consonant is said two ways, so the name arrives differently from different people.
- There is no documented meaning, only the account of the base it contains.
