The story of Jeramiah
The book of Jeremiah is the longest in the Bible by word count and contains an unusual amount of biographical material — the prophet is beaten, imprisoned in a cistern, and forced into exile in Egypt against his will. He is also the only prophet whose secretary is named. Jeremiah rose sharply in American records from the 1970s, and Jeramiah, Jerimiah and Jeremias are among the respellings.
Meaning
the Lord will exalt, or the Lord appoints
From Hebrew Yirmeyahu; the first element is read either from a verb meaning to lift up or from one meaning to loosen and thus to appoint, with a form of the divine name. Both give a complete sentence.
