Origin, sound and short forms
Our story of Daric
Derek Walcott, a poet from St. Lucia, published Omeros in 1990, an epic in which the fishermen Achille and Hector quarrel over a woman called Helen on a Caribbean island, retelling Homer in the voices of people history had overlooked; two years later he won the Nobel Prize. Daric shares that name's sound, written in its own way. It is a short, firm name with a crisp close.
