The story of Danyale
The Book of Daniel begins in Hebrew, switches to Aramaic in the middle of a sentence in its second chapter, runs in Aramaic for six chapters, and then switches back — and nobody has settled why. It is the only book in the Hebrew Bible that does this on that scale. The story it tells begins with the same kind of doubleness: a boy taken to a foreign court, given a new name in the local language and expected to answer to it, while the text keeps calling him by the one he came with. Both names are on the page. For a name that has itself been rewritten in a dozen ways by people who wanted it to look like their own, that is a fitting piece of ancestry.
Meaning
God is my judge
The Hebrew joins the word for judge to the word for God, and the reading is not in dispute. The French feminine adds an ending and changes nothing about the sense; the American respelling changes nothing at all except the letters.

Fashion outlook
Danyale sits outside the current charts, and that is its own kind of answer: naming cycles can only date the names they carried up. A name this rare has no decade stamped on it — it cannot go out of fashion, because it was never in.
