Our story of Dandra
On the ceiling of a chapel in the temple of Hathor at Dendera, on the Nile, was carved a round map of the sky with the signs of the zodiac; in 1821 a French expedition cut it out with saws and gunpowder and shipped it to Paris, where it is still in the Louvre and a plaster copy fills its place in Egypt. Dandra was not named for the temple; it came from Sandra and Deandra. But it shares a sound with a carved sky.
