Origin, sound and short forms
Our story of Corda
In Italian a corda is a string, and musicians meet the word on every piano: the left pedal is the una corda, one string, because on the old instruments it shifted the hammers so they struck a single string instead of three, and the sound grew soft and veiled. Composers still write una corda in the score when they want that hush. Corda has no recorded tie to it, but a name that means a string, and brings to mind a softened note, is a lovely thing to carry.

Fashion outlook
Corda sits outside the current charts, and that is its own kind of answer: naming cycles can only date the names they carried up. A name this rare has no decade stamped on it — it cannot go out of fashion, because it was never in.
