The story of Cirilla
Cyril and Methodius devised a written alphabet for Slavic and translated the liturgy into it, against opposition from clergy who held that only three languages were fit for worship. The alphabet named for him was actually made by his students. Cirilla is the Italian feminine and appears in American records in current use.
Meaning
lordly, masterful
From the Greek kyrios, 'lord', through Kyrillos and the Italian Cirillo. The Cyrillic alphabet is named for Cyril, though he actually devised Glagolitic; his followers made Cyrillic. The Greek is documented.

The Vianca test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Cirilla's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Vianca climbed just as high around 1991, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Vianca's path sketches the road Cirilla is walking now.
Cirilla sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.

- The lordly meaning is transparent and strong.
- A video game and novel series are strong recent associations.
- Italian and English say the c differently.
- Cyrilla is the commoner English spelling.
