Auron
Masculine
Auron opens on the same syllable as Aurora and Aurelius, the Latin au- that carries gold and dawn, and closes on the -ron that Aaron and Cameron share. As a name it is recent, and it arrived in American nurseries partly through a swordsman in a Japanese role-playing game at the turn of the century.

Our story of Auron
Some names arrive through books and some through screens, and this one came the second way. A Japanese role-playing game released at the start of the two-thousands gave a wandering swordsman this name, and a generation of players grew up and became parents. What made it usable was that it did not sound invented: the au- opening belongs to Latin and to a dozen real words about gold and daybreak, and the -ron ending is ordinary in English. So the name reads as though it came out of an older language than it did, which is the quiet trick that the best modern coinages manage.
Meaningnot established
Not established
Not documented. Latin aurum, gold, and aurora, dawn, both begin with the same letters, and the resemblance is why the name reads as classical. But no source language records Auron, and the connection to those words cannot be shown; the name is a modern assembly that happens to point at them.
Pronouncing Auron
OR-un
Two syllables, stress in front, the first said like the word or. Some families say ow-RON instead, and the spelling gives no ruling.

The Jacobie test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Auron's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Jacobie climbed just as high around 1992, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Jacobie's path sketches the road Auron is walking now.
Auron sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.

The trade-off
- It sounds classical without belonging to any crowded classical set.
- Ron is available as a plain short form, which balances the name's unusual half.
- Five letters and two syllables: it is quick to write and quick to say.
- Aaron is what most people will hear and write.
- Two pronunciations circulate, OR-un and ow-RON.
- Its best-known bearer is a video-game character, which will be recognized by some and mean nothing to others.
