The story of Antoine
Antonius was one of the great houses of the Roman republic — Mark Antony among them — and Christian Europe kept the name through Saint Anthony of Egypt and later Anthony of Padua, who became one of the most invoked saints in the world. French made Antoine, and both French-Canadian and Louisiana French families brought it to America. It rose sharply in the 1970s and peaked in 1990.
Meaningnot established
Not established
From the Roman family name Antonius, generally taken to be Etruscan and pre-Latin, with no recoverable meaning. The reading 'priceless' that circulates with the name comes from a later folk etymology connecting it to the Greek anthos, 'flower'; it is not supported by anything.

Line the two peaks up, and Dexter's path sketches the road Antoine is walking now.
