Aleda

Aleda is probably a worn-down Adelaide, and Adelaide is one of the great examples of a name that outlived its bearer entirely. The Australian city carries the name of a queen consort whom almost nobody now could identify, and it is very likely the largest thing named after any English queen.

The story of Aleda
Adelaide of Saxe-Meiningen married the Duke of Clarence when he was fifty-two and she was twenty-five, and became queen when he unexpectedly became king. She had no surviving children, was regarded as dull by London society and as kind by almost everybody who dealt with her, and was widely admired for her treatment of her husband's ten illegitimate children, whom she brought into the household. The South Australian capital was named after her while she was queen. She has a city of well over a million people, and most of them have never wondered who she was.

The likeliest route is from Adelaide or its Dutch and Hungarian relative Alida, both of which were in circulation when this name appears. Adelaide is Germanic and means something like noble kind or noble sort, built from two very productive elements. Whether an American family in the 1880s was writing Alida by ear, cutting Adelaide short or doing something else entirely is not recorded anywhere.

Fashion outlook
Aleda sits outside the current charts, and that is its own kind of answer: naming cycles can only date the names they carried up. A name this rare has no decade stamped on it — it cannot go out of fashion, because it was never in.
