The story of Adem
The wordplay in Genesis is deliberate and untranslatable: adam is formed from adamah, the man from the ground, and the words are one letter apart. English has no way to reproduce it — earthling and earth is the nearest anyone gets. Turkish took Adem through Arabic Adam, and it is well used there. It reaches American records with Turkish and Bosnian families.
Meaning
man, earth
From Hebrew adam, a human being, connected to adamah, the ground, and to adom, red; Genesis makes the connection explicit by having the man formed from the dust of the ground.

The Igor test
Every popular name lives one long story — a climb, a peak, a slow settling back. Adem's later chapters haven't been written yet, so we borrowed them: Igor climbed just as high around 1953, and its whole arc is on record. Line the two peaks up, and Igor's path sketches the road Adem is walking now.
Adem sits in the calm middle of the cycle — neither chasing a wave nor sliding off one. Middle-of-the-cycle names age slowly and predictably.
